7th Summer Fesival, Kavala, Greece July 2006

Members of the jury in Kavala, enjoying a meal together - The 7th Summer Festival "Y A Papaioannou" took place in July 2006 in two parts: International Piano Masterclasses: 21st-24th July International Mozart Competition: 25th-27th July Kathron Sturrock was on the international jury (3 from the Royal College of Music, 1 from the Moscow Conservatoire, and 1 from the Madrid Conservatoire). First prize was won by Jessica Chan, from the Royal College of Music, London, who played a concerto with the Sofia Symphony Orchestra in the Ancient Theatre of Filippi. The Festival is the brainchild of Yannis Erifillidis, a pupil of Yonty Solomon and a past pupil of Kathron Sturrock at the Royal College of Music.
