REVIEW:

A varied programme of English and French chamber music played with style and obvious enjoyment by the players. For me, the highlight was the Quartet for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet and Bassoon by Francaix. Brilliant, witty music played with elan by the woodwind quartet.

Throughout the programme, Christopher O'Neal's oboe playing was outstanding. He produced beautiful, seamless tone throughout a range of two and a half octaves and his musicianship was impeccable. Surely this is world-class
playing?
