"...dazzlingly good chamber ensemble…
exuberantly expressive, intimate style…
gorgeously idiomatic playing’

'The Fibonacci Sequence... elegant virtuosity....'

Restoring Elgar's manuscript fragments has become a small industry since Anthony Payne's fine reconstruction of Symphony no.3. Now composer Paul Adrian Rooke has put flesh on three piano trio movements, including the nobilmente 'March for the Grafton family' (1924) and a lento and minuet with some of the melodic voluptuousness of the composer's salon miniatures. Pianist Kathron Sturrock and the Fibonacci Sequence bring elegant virtuosity to the Elgar, to Adela Maddison's fluent, French-influenced Piano Quintet (1916) and to Frank Bridge's Piano Quartet in C minor (1902). Fascinating additions to English Edwardian music.
